HUE, a tech company known for its innovative solutions for artists, creatives, and brands, recently collaborated with Austrian artist Erwin Wurm to produce an augmented reality (AR) sculpture called “Ghost.” The artwork premiered at the first-ever South Korea edition of the Frieze art fair and was featured in the Lehmann Maupin gallery’s booth.
“Ghost” is an AR version of Wurm’s large-scale sculpture made of aluminum and stands three meters tall. It features a flattened and anthropomorphized set of clothing and shoes with a subtle, animated breeze rippling through the clothes. The work is a continuation of Wurm’s exploration of themes such as absurdity versus the mundane, clothing as a second skin, and the body as a sculptural medium.
