There are a few ways for you to get started producing augmented reality (AR) versions of your artworks as an artist or an art gallery:
- Send us at least 4-5 images of the artwork to be recreated in AR (E-mail [email protected] for a price quote)
- Provide 50+ images of artwork for photogrammetry production
- Deliver a LiDAR scan file
Method #1 — Typically galleries provide digital photographs of sculptures or paintings usually offering several views in order for us to reproduce a 3-D version. From the photographs we are able to effectively create a digital replica of the artwork(s).
Method #2 — Another method used is photogrammetry, which requires an average of 50+ photographs (iPhone photos are often sufficient) for our software to interpret then build the object in 3-D using set data. The best way to understand this process is to compare LiDAR scanning technology, however using multiple images instead of lasers/special cameras.
Method #3 — Some artist’s studios have their artworks scanned professionally using LiDAR, which helps the process allowing our 3-D artists to manipulate the models and convert to an AR-ready format.
We recommend art galleries and artists simply send digital photographs for us to determine what is needed beyond that point, as described in #1 above.
Feel free to email us [email protected] to get started!
Looking forward to working together!!
